He is 8. I cant believe it.

I love him so very much. He is so sweet, he looks up to his dad so much...and acts just like him, he loves his sister and brother, he is a great friend, he is hillarious, he is smart and an excellent student...i could go on for days. I love him. So glad he is mine!!

Have I told you how much I love these 3?? Well, I do. More than anything.

They are best friends...well, most days.

Jacob will be 8 on Sunday, and I'm freaking out. He is growing up way faster than I could have ever imagined.

Kylie is in kindergarten, and LOVING every second. She is with 6 of her very best friends from our neighborhood and that makes her, and me, so very happy.

Carson is my best little friend. He is turning into a big boy way to fast. He is in his big boy bed now and trying his hardest to say goodbye to his diapers.

I love them. They brighten my day. Hardest and most rewarding job ever! If i could, i would have 10 more just like them. But 3 is just fine for now.

the summer is coming to an end....

what we have been doing to stay busy this summer....

walks, bike rides, scrapped knees, sleepovers in the backyard, sleepovers with cousins, weekends in midway, 2 weeks in Coronado, Popsicles, play dates, swim lessons, golf lessons, milcreek canyon roasting marsh mellows, birthday party's, bbq's with friends, etc etc. We have had a WONDERFUL summer. So happy I'm getting back to normal and could be apart of all of this with my little family! And...so glad that Jason and I got to run away to Vegas last weekend...just the 2 of us.

Love my kids...love that they are mine. Sad that school starts in 10 days, but happy for them. Jacob in 2nd grade and Kylie in Kindergarten. Breaks my heart how fast it goes!!

So proud of Kylie this year. She worked so hard in school, was an excellent student, made so many great friends, loved her teacher (she is truly the best!), and looked forward every single school day to go. She will sure miss Mrs. Wilkinson....but the plus to this, she is in our ward! So, lucky for Kylie she will see her still all the time!

My sweet boy turned 2....a while ago.

This is old news, but with everything that has been going on with my health, Carson's birthday was sorta just thrown together. He turned 2 right after I got out of the hospital. My sweet mom went shopping for me, got the cake, etc etc. I usually throw a big party, with everything very thought out, but that just didn't happen. And you know what...it all worked out!!

I cant even describe how sweet my little buddy is.

he loves to say "good morning mama", followed by a huge hug and slobbery kiss first thing
then, he asks for "dinner (everything is dinner to him) and choc milk and watch mickey mouse please"
he loves to wake up his brother and sister. He is very sweet about it too
he loves animals...but we don't have one, which makes my kids sad
he loves his blanket...its starting to be a problem
he loves his shoes, and tries to get himself dressed
he tells me when he needs his diaper changed...and likes to got potty on the toilet
he loves to eat....i mean really, he would sit in his chair and eat all day. whatever too!
he is such a good little dancer and loves music
he says please and thank you for everything...so cute
he finally loves nursery
he loves grandma and grandpa more than me
he cant get enough of his daddy....he likes to watch basketball with him

this list could go on for days....i love him. I love hanging out with him everyday. I love the cuddles i get from him. He brightens my day. I'm so very blessed....not sure how I got so lucky.

I know....this picture is frightening. This is sometime before my surgery.

Jason showed this to me for the first time tonight, and well, it scared me.

It's been 3 weeks....and my recovery is VERY slow....but, I'm doing a little better every day. My Dr tells me mid June or July I will feel like myself again. So, until then, I just take it easy, sleep alot, and cuddle with my kids as much as possible!

Once again, I cant thank my dear friends and family enough for your love and concern....its truly overwhelming. I love you all from the bottom of my heart.

Broken heart....and broken body.

Last week, on this day, my life changed. Let me tell you about it...

wed night around 9pm: that's when it all starts. Very, very sick...and off to the ER we go.

tests, tests, and more tests.

my husband so scared.

me...not with it at all, so not aware of whats happening.

Thursday at 5am: starting to get some scary tests results back.

1. we don't have a heartbeat on the baby.

2. my white blood count is thru the roof...which means major infection in my body

3. Priesthood blessings to keep me calm and safe

7am: I am bleeding internally. Not sure where this is coming from.

My husband, so so scared. but by my side every single second.

9am: another ultra sound and more tests

11:00: Dr's still trying to figure out whats going on....I'm getting worse and worse.

everyone can see it. I can't talk, I can't open my eyes, I can hardly breathe.

12:00: A radiologist, internal Dr, and my OB meet.

that is when they discover, after looking over all my tests and ultra sounds what is happening.

a few minutes later....

many Dr's in my room, papers being thrown at Jason to sign, prepping me for emergency surgery.

Another priesthood blessing, on the way to the OR. Thank you Dad.

I am pregnant with twins. One is stuck in my Fallopian tube...which burst and is causing internal bleeding. Which, at this point I am bleeding to death.

I lost 2500cc of blood in surgery....1/2 of my bodies blood.

Huge blood transfusion performed, and I'm alive.

I was watched over every second....I know this. I'm so very very grateful.

While my heart and body are broken, I'm still here for my kids and for Jason.

I am now home from a long hospital stay.....and so happy.

Thank you all for your prayers, phone calls, texts, flowers, dinners, etc etc.

I love you all.

Who else spent their Valentine's night watching this?!?!

Well, my shift for work got cut at the last second last night, so Jason and I didn't have any big plans set....so, of course we curled up and watched our favorite show!! Yes, Jason watches every week!

So..a few thing about last night.

1. The location...that was amazing!

2. Shawntel's date...i really like her.

3. Emily...she is pretty, but seriously is anyone else a little board with her?

4. Chantal...I'm SO tired of her. I mean, yes she is "in love" with him, but come on, your not the only one there...so stop crying every time he shows interest in somebody else.

5. Ashley...i don't know. I have never really been a huge fan of hers, so I'm fine if she goes home next.

6. Michelle....thanks for making this season so dang entertaining!!! It's pretty funny to watch a friend on this kind of show...and acting totally nuts! its been hilarious to me!! And I know everyone thinks she is Crazy, which is exactly the way she was acting, but really, in true life she really isn't even close to that. So....with that said, I will personally miss watching her.

BEST January EVER!!!!!

We had a wonderful vacation....except for the flu coming to visit and hitting Carson first, then Kylie, then Jason. The kids loved every second of the trip...here is Part 1. We spent 5 days in Anaheim, then 5 days in Coronado. The weather was in the high 70's, some days 80. Could not have been more perfect.

Christmas has been on my kiddos minds lately. figuring out what they will ask Santa for this year is talked about alot, and Jacob has figured out his list.

the conversation the other day about his list went a little something like this...

"Mom, so I have been thinking about my Christmas list. Last year I asked for 3 things and Santa said that was quiet a list, so this year I will only ask for 2 things.

I would like the first thing to be a Servant that will call me Master Jake and do everything for me.

The second thing I'm going to ask for is some new Vans with skulls on them.

So...Kylie has a new favorite book and wants to read it all the time, especially at grandmas. In fact, she called my mom tonight to see if she would come over and read it to her before she went to bed. Of course, my wonderful mom did. Anyway, if you don't have this book, get it! Whenever my mom reads it to my kids she cries! its so sweet.

Here are the words to the book....

well...i did it.

I had surgery today.

i inherited a terrible set of varicose veins, and with every pregnancy they got worse and worse. right now, I'm laying in bed...and will be for the next 72 hours. i cant lift anything over 5lbs for 3 days. and i have 3 kids who weigh well over that!! o ya, and i really cant walk. its funny to watch me try to get around!!

while its nice to just lay here...its hard. moms cant just lay here!

anyway, if you experience varicose veins, i would be happy to tell you about my procedure and recommend highly my Dr. and his team.

in the last year i have been really trying to make dinner alot more. i have found tons of easy, kid friendly recipes...and got this delish dish from my cousin. made it last night and loved it! try it out...its really, really good and so easy!

Honey Lime Chicken Enchiladas

6 tablespoons honey
5 tablespoons lime juice
½ tablespoon chili powder
½ teaspoon garlic powder

1 pound chicken, cooked and shredded (I used 3 small chicken breasts)
8-10 flour tortillas
1 pound monterey jack cheese, shredded
16 ounces green chili enchilada sauce
1 cup heavy cream

Mix the first four ingredients and toss with shredded chicken. Let it marinate for at least 1/2 hour (I tossed mine together in a ziploc bag in the morning and let it sit in the refrigerator all day).
Pour about 1/2 cup enchilada sauce on the bottom of a 9X13 baking pan.
Fill flour tortillas with chicken and shredded cheese, saving about 1 cup of cheese to sprinkle on top of enchiladas.
Mix the remaining enchilada sauce with the cream and leftover marinade.
Pour sauce on top of the enchiladas and sprinkle with cheese.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes until brown and crispy on top.

my baby boy is 1

i really cant believe it. our lives changed, our family became 5, happiest day to have another child join our family. i love this little boy more than words can describe. he is the sweetest, happiest, funniest little guy. i am so blessed to be a stay at home mom and watch him every step of the way. Jacob and Kylie adore him, and of course Jason cant get enough of him. here are a few things you should know....

he loves:

his sleep...he goes to bed at 7:30, sometimes earlier! this is huge, my kids are late nighters!
his dad. when Jason walks in the door from work, he freaks out and starts crawling at him and playing with him. its so cute!
Jacob and Kylie. he tries to say their names, its really cute. his face lights up when he sees them.
food, of any kind!
his grandma. he says "g ma" over and over again!
his blanket
water. he could spend hours playing in the bath
walking...he thinks he is big time now that he does this
swinging outside...and going on walks
saying "hi" to everyone when we are out and about
talking on the phone...and chewing on it.
reading books and playing in his room
his big boy car seat
hide and go seek....and he says BOO!
giving kisses...big wet ones!
baby Einstein
play group on Monday...he loves his friends.

i could go on and on...he is so fun. this is such a fun age! i love him and I'm so happy he is a healthy happy 1 year old!!!

or Christmas break??

its a little confusing these days with all this snow...i wish the weather would make it feel like spring break. my kids are not loving being inside looking out the window and the snow falling and falling. well, with that said...we took the kids to see this movie last night. Jake LOVED it! Kylie, well she was a little tired and fell asleep but she loved the parts she saw. and Carson was pretty into it until he decided just wanted to get down and run around (o ya, he walks now!) but the parts i did see of this movie its AMAZING! take your kids to see it...they will love it!

So Jacob for a while now has said he is going to be a basketball player when we grows up...but yesterday he came home from school and has changed his mind on his career choice. here is how the conversation went.... Jacob: mom, i figured out what i want to be when i grow up...and Principal.
Me: really, why?
Jacob: they just have such a cool and easy job. they go to the classrooms and make sure the kids are being good and choosing the right and then they just go back to their office and eat pizza and popcorn.
Me: wow, that sounds pretty great. so what makes you think they go back to their office and eat pizza and popcorn?
Jacob: because every time i walk by the office i can always smell pizza and popcorn...mom, i cant wait to be a Principal, its going to be sweet!!!

Im feeling a little stressed these days.... my dear mom friends...

i need your help. I'm feeling crazy lately.

Jacob is 6 1/2..usually pretty easy going and sweet, until he is even barely hungry or tired, then he turns not so nice.

Kylie...well, she is just 3 1/2 and i don't know what else to say. she too is very sweet and loving most of the time, but when she wakes up on the wrong side she is a bear all day!!

and Carson, he is so sweet and almost 1 but is being caught in the middle of craziness all day.

anyway, my question. Jake and Kylie are fighting alot lately and I'm dreading summer time and them being together all day everyday. i just don't know what to do. we have alot of play dates and Jake goes to friends houses, but i just don't love how much they are fighting. what are some tricks up your sleeve if you have kids that are yelling and getting mad about everything??

Me and my girl....

so, i just surprised ky with a little something. her and i are going to have a girls night out this weekend and go see tinkerbell.

the other day kylie was getting herself dressed and wanted to be all by herself. for those of you that have 3yr olds, you know what im talking about when i say our 3yr olds love changing clothes 20x a day and always doing it by themselves. so, this is the get up she pulled together this day. its a beauty, isnt it? she is getting the concept of matching though. and dont you love all the accessories she pulled together? and really, that pose for the camera is so funny. anyway, had to share this one!! have a great weekend...

i was looking thru some pics and came across this one. it makes me laugh every time...i love how animated my 61/2 yr old is. yes, he is really that old. how is that? i have been asking myself that alot lately. i love just sitting down and talking with him. o yes, and he and his girlfriend broke up. she moved and is going to a different school...he said its better because he really doesnt want a girlfriend! i love him.

the other night Jason and Jacob were in watching TV...i could hear Jason telling Jake about the devastation in Haiti, which i felt was a good thing and something he needed to learn about. a few minutes into the conversation and heard Jake say "dad, this story is way to sad, and then he started to cry." just after that, Jason and Jake got Jason's phone and text "Haiti" to #90999 and donated $10. My husband called me this morning telling me a story about a friend of his cousins...a mom that lost her 8week old last night. My heart fell to the floor. This is her story, and its beautifully written and although i don't know her, i feel as if i do after reading through her last 9days. I sobbed the whole time reading it and thought of what i would do if this was me. Would i have her strength? A mothers love is just something so special and these little angels that are brought to us are priceless. May she and her family be blessed at this time. Jacobs 1st golf tournament!!!!
this was such a fun day. Jake did wonderful...i was so proud!! he took 3rd in his division! there were around 50 competing....overall he took around 15...he is truly amazing. i loved watching him. i think my days from here on out will be spent on the golf course with this guy! and of course in the dance studio with Ky...and for Carson, who knows?? i love my kids and so proud of the things they have already accomplished in their little lives! jacob being very profesional and shaking the boys hands he was paired up with that day

Well, we have had a very big week around the Powell house...lets start with Jacob

Jacob started kindergarten. I really cant believe it...time has gone by so fast. He is loving it so far. He has a great teacher and I'm so excited for him. We live close to the school so we walk him every morning. Here we are on his first day.

Then Kylie started preschool...she also loves it.

and last....kylie started dance. She is doing tap and ballet and i couldn't be happier!!! it was so fun to watch her focus on her teacher and learn the moves! here are a few of my favorites from that day...

How is my sweet little man 4 months old today?!?!
I really cant handle how fast my kids are growing...it seems like yesterday I was holding Jacob and asking myself this same question...and now I have 3 kids! I cant believe it. They make my life complete and I feel so lucky to have them all as my children...but when will they start to listen to me. I have had long talks with everyone of them and told them that's it, stop growing! they just aren't listening!!!

He had his 2month check up this morning and he weighs 11lbs 8ounces!!! my biggest for sure!

Jacob at the driving range.... He woke up really early this morning,( like 6:30am or something crazy!!) came upstairs and told Jason it was time to go to the "range" (as he calls it). He was all dressed, shoes on and everything and said he has all his stuff ready and it was by the front door. This was his little set up...so dang cute!!

they got out of the car and there was D-Will from the Jazz in the parking lot with them. Jake was soooo excited but didn't know what to say just looked up at him. He was really nice to Jake and talked to him about golf for a sec and then was nice enough to get a pic with him. When they got on the driving range D-Will was right next to Jacob and he also had 2 pro golfers with him. They kept watching Jacob, who i have to say is REALLY good at golf. He is a natural! Anyway, really fun day for my little man.

Hi....guess what??? I'm 2 weeks old already!!!

I'm doing so good. I just figured out that night time is for sleeping which makes my mommy very happy! I went to the Dr yesterday and I weigh 8lbs 4ounces and I'm 20 1/2 inches...yep I love to eat! Well, I better go take a little nap now, its hard being in this world...love you all!

10 days and counting......
At my Dr appoint this week, i begged and begged him to start me.... a girl needs to walk and get around and this girl cant anymore!! He told me he will start me on the 13th if i ha vent gone yet, which he is shocked i am even still pregnant with as ready as my body is. I'm almost a 4 and around 90%. I'm grateful the baby is in me still, even though i really want to hold him. I know its best for him to be inside as long as possible...but, this part is just really really hard! anyway, let the countdown begin!! Have a wonderful weekend

I'm not having fun anymore....
I was in the hospital on an iv on Monday for being dehydrated, so weird since i drink water all day!! I was at a 2 and 80% that day...then had a Dr appoint wed and I'm at a 3 and 95%...getting so close! with that said, I'm really uncomfortable and just not having to much fun getting around anymore. I woke up this morning and my hips are killing!! what did this little man do in the night. I swear he dropped big time. isn't the last part of pregnancy fun?!?! Its so crazy what our bodies do and just know what to do...i cant wait to hold my little buddy. hope you are all having a great day, and hopefully i will be posting pics very, very soon!

Really....I'm going to have 3 kids!!!! So got home last night from dinner with some girlfriends and Jake came and kissed my tummy and gave me a big huge...then said, lets take a picture of me kissing your tummy! one of my favorites....this is one of my favorite things to eat...fresh salsa!! thought i would share the recipe with you...

1 can tomato sauce
1 can of Mexican fiesta tomatoes
1 red pepper
1 green pepper
1 small onion
hand full of cilantro
1 tsp sugar
dash of garlic salt
...blend all together in a blender and enjoy!!...

Me and my Natalie....
This is my darling Natty that I have been friends with since birth...love her more than anything!! We are both due at the same time and we couldn't be more excited that my son and her daughter will love each other and get married one day...yes, we have already arranged that! Anyway, she moved to St George last spring and I miss her so much. She came up here this week so we could have a little get together and celebrate her belly.

baby #3....
so went to the Dr today and got put on moderate bed rest...ahhh!! already, but I'm not even 30 weeks yet! Everything in certainly happening earlier and earlier with every pregnancy so i should have known this was coming. lets see, today my blood pressure was high already, sugar level was high..which is a first, iron is low..which is a first, the list sorta just keeps going! i knew it though, i have felt different the last 2 weeks. owell, at least I'm not send to bed and only bed. well, that was my day, hope you all had a good one!!

......ms. kylie...... so this is how i found ky today. i was cleaning and vacuuming and she was in playing in her room. when i went in her room to vacuum, this is how she looked. she told me to be quiet she was trying to get her baby to take a nap. i asked her why she was naked and had flip flops and sunglasses on and she said, "its sunny outside and i really want to go to the pool!!" she is such a funny little one.

she is on day #4 of "pretty underpants" as she says. she has actually been potty training herself for the last 6months, thats right since before her 2nd birthday. i havent pushed it and have let it be all her idea, since she still seems so young to me. some days she wears pull ups, some days diapers and some days underpants. i wonder if from here on out will just be underpants?!?! hopefully!

this little girl is a funny one and i love her so much! i cant believe she will be a big sister soon....
