Thursday night ky was very sick with the flu. She had been sick for 3 days but kept acting like she was feeling better and Wed. acted just fine. Well, thursday around 7:30pm we decided to take her to Primary Childrens Hospital because we were worried about her being dehydrated. Well she was -- extremly dehydrated!! In fact, they hooked her up to the iv in the ER and ran 2 bags - no wet diaper. When the lab work came back around midnight they said we would be staying the night and able to go home the next morning. Well, she didn't have a wet diaper until friday am, around 8. They think she was even more dehydrated then the lab worked showed. Poor little thing was on the iv all day until friday evening. They said she had Gastroenteritis, which is an infection in her stomach and intestines. It was very scary to see you little 18month old so sick and being poked and having the nurses and doctors checking on her every hour in the night. The good news is we are home, she is doing so much better. She is sleeping and drinking, not quite eating yet. We are very tired but grateful we have Primary Childrens hospital and they are truly wonderful there. Hope you all stay healthy and take care this winter!!

Oh, what a sweet little thing. I'm so glad you took her in! It's so hard to know what to do sometimes. She looks like she cooperated well in the pictures. I'm glad she's home now and getting better. What a relief.

I am so sorry you all had to go through that! I have yet to have to take one of my children to the hospital and I hope that streak keeps going! I am glad that she is doing better, our thoughts and prayers are with you!
